THE SHADOWLANDS EXPERIENCE

Friday, September 30, 2022: Time To Train Your Dragon On November 28

And tho it begins "finally" - on 11/28/22. It's time to train your Dragon on November 28 haha. Whether or not it's a finished product or far from it (I surmise from the lack of features / marketing), do you really want Shadowlands to last 5+ years? It might be the longest lasting expansion to date - and one of the worst to say the least haha.

Is Blizzard really thinking of making 'Classics' out of all the expansions? Damn - I guess they really have nothing better to do since retail seems to be just gettin' worse haha. They should just stop at WOTLK (perhaps just add to that instead), and focus their resources / time / energy in improving retail.

If you're stuck in a losing random group over and over, just stop logging in or take a break. It's a crapshoot when it comes to randoms - sometimes, you can get some fun / competitive games. Other times - it's a lopsided loss every, single game (with lopsided, uneven sides - I guess it goes beyond just the "no healer / undergeared healer" issues). You can't really predict whether a player comes into a group geared or knows how to PvP / do objectives. I certainly take every random a grain of salt. A sure-fire strat is to just take a lengthy break and come back later. The opposing faction players are going to eventually get bored when they're all geared out or maxed out in points, and it is no longer fun. Then, you should start playing again haha.

I'll say it again - There is no motivation to play a new class or spec, because Blizzard can all of a sudden nerf it to the ground. And all that grinding time to gear up and whatnot, becomes a total waste. It's true for trying a new class or spec. My advice is to just stick with a few only (unless you have nothing else to do in life other than WoW), and just focus on other endeavors that might be viable for the class / spec. Or just take a break until that class / spec becomes viable again.
Wednesday, August 24, 2022: The Case For Solo Queue RBGs

Perhaps a few years ago, this did not make any sense. And it still doesn't for a lot. I think there is not enough noise or support for this for even Blizzard to consider it. Solo Queue Arena or Solo Shuffle, is currently an experiment and in play right now. I thought about it when it implemented - but there was gear disparity at the start. And when they 'equalized' it, botting, throwing, and just plain noobs come into play. That's what you get however.

BGs however, are objective-based. You can have comp disparity or disadvantage, and still win - it's very rare, but possible. I'd prefer to take that risk. In situations where one side has no idea what they are doing or just not coordinated, you can make "hero plays" and win it. I get that sometimes, this is what Randoms are. And randoms can be more competitive than some premade Yolo-ing in an RBG for sure. But to make it work or have a chance - set a minimum level required gear, require the 1-3-6 format to fill (otherwise, match won't start). Getting into a group has been near-impossible these days, and few and far between. The "Make Yer Own Group" is always the last resort or an excuse - it should not be relied on however. And then you would have the problem of not finding enough players applying or signing up.
Thursday, August 11, 2022: Ranking Expansions

Blizzard has been on a downward spiral of laziness, apathy and incompetence. It began with WoD (or Cataclysm some would argue), with Legion being a break in that haha:

Good: TBC, WOTLK, MOP
Decent: Legion
Terrible: Cataclysm, WoD, BFA, SL

Is "Dragonflight" or DF going down that path of mediocrity or terribleness? If anything, this reflects most of society / hollywood crap anyway. My credo is always to reserve judgment until played or tried.

S4 begins. As far as mages are concerned, is the "Arcane Dream" finally viable? Switching specs and learning them isn't the issue - it's the fuckin' grind in wasting one's time / energy in getting the appropriate gear, leveling up gear, stat priorities, conduits, etc. in order to maximize it. I prefer learning other classes first. Either way, it's still a grind. Thus, I am only going to go as far as a part-time / casual player can go haha. Fire is still S-Tier I believe. Until things change with the new talent trees in "Dragonflight".

Speaking of the new talent trees, that might be the time to finally switch specs. Everyone is going to play what is most optimal, or try to. Still - when Blizz has that bad habit of nerfing / buffing classes or specs just right after you slave away in gearing up on that particular class / spec. It isn't worth it.

Also - Blizz needs to make the previous seasons' elite PvP gear available for Honor. Otherwise - gear disparity is going to continue to be an issue: especially with alts.

S4 in August - is this what they are calling "experimental"? What does that even meaaannn?? haha. You "thonths of bishes" (sons of bitches). hahaha.

Apparently, "Dragonflight" is evidently far from complete as testing hasn't even begun yet (or has it?). Why would anyone want to pre-order knowing that. Although Blizz "plans" on releasing the new expansion by the end of the year, a delay is inevitable. For me, pre-ordering has been and always is a waste. Of course - we all want the new expansion to release this year, but as a relatively finished product. Unfortunately, it's all a marketing ploy. By stating they'll release it "this year", it gives them free reigns to start selling Pre-Orders and other crap. Once they made profit - they can deceive the customer base again by "Delaying" the release date knowing that they've already made pre-order profits. Shaking my head.

Hey Blizz - how about a Rated Solo Queue for BGs? Right now - I heard only Arena is being considered, or the focus is only on Arena. Which most of the clamoring originated or demanded for anyway. Hence - the Solo Shuffle experiment. I think the only way is if the PvP community begins clamoring or hounding for a Rated BG Solo Queue. If that is not possible or not even considered, than I'll opt for a 1 vs. 1 bracket instead. Fair trade.
Tuesday, April 19, 2022: How To Train Your "Dragon"-Flight hahaha

The next WoW expansion is "Dragonflight". And yes - everyone saw it coming (if you count leaks - otherwise, fire the guy who leaked the coding for it). Again - I reserve judgment until the expansion releases and we are immersed in it. I always enjoy leveling new content - for me, it's about the journey as well as end game. The rest of you can continue to trash this haha. The name "Dragonflight" itself is not very exciting - one word titles usually are not.

I'll actually be impressed if they installed a 1 vs. 1 bracket (after balancing classes for it - if ever possible, or doing a caster DPS vs. caster DPS, tank vs. tank, etc) and a rated solo queue for BGs and Arena.

So the question is - how long do we have to wait for this? Considering Shadowlands is probably the longest expansion to date - and one of the worst. With the announcement of S4 in Patch 9.2.5, it might not be this year. Goddammit.

I'm not a bit surprised or wouldn't be a bit surprised if subs are being lost - when Blizzard said they'll have all Nathria Memories sold by a vendor in Haven, but the vendor's bag being completely empty or glitched. Blizzard's apathy of not fixing these things, is the same as going back on their word or deceiving customers. I can only forgive them for allowing easier access to Soul Cinders, Soul Ash and other things. Fire Ion? Oh yeah - Fire Morgan Day as well hahaha.

Yearly advice for Blizzard - give up on the April Fool's jokes. It's hella worse than the writing and other end-game bore content hahaha.

I am grateful for the enlightened bag of goodies (ample soul cinders and soul ash) - it makes grinding rep worth it somewhat. However, some of the sketchy achievements to fly in Zereth Mortis is just not worth it (unless you install coordinates and all that crap). I fuckin' hate having to find invisible shit around the map. The time spent in that zone is not much anyway.

I continue to practice my 1 vs. 1 in BG's - usually whenever the match or game is a lost cause. Usually, when a random BG game is completely lopsided on our favor, the other team is either out-geared or complete noobs. It's like that on both sides. It's not really fun anyway. Only when you are out-geared or out-classed. Or if the teams are evenly matched in skill and gear - rare, but than I just focus on the objectives and such.

I guess you can't blame Chan or Snutz for stepping down from retail competition (since money talks, and bullshit walks). Hopefully, they can return in the future.

I have no "in-depth" opinion about the Sylvannas Epilogue. Since the writers already screwed up the Teldrassil fiasco, they had to resolve this. I guess you can say, it's fitting judgment. As they say, "Let The Punishment Fit The Crime". In a K-Drama, "Revenge" is often a theme that is over-used and over-done. It makes a thriller or a drama completely wack or unbelievable. However, there are exceptions - if the story is unique or elements or stories in it have unique-ness to them or there are multiple perspectives. Fortunately, Tyrande was about to go down the "Full On Revenge / Rage" path, but the Epilogue seemed like a fitting end.

And oh yeah - congratulations to Pelagos for becoming the Arbiter hahaha.
