Re-listen of the Day: D-So and Ed Park in a GeniusBrain episode, talkin' about "Being Fat". Actually titled: "Do Asians Crap On their Parents Too much, Leave Lizzo Alone, Opening up about our obesity".

I'm on my third listen.

Ed Park returns! The most recent podcast by GeniusBrain, is mostly about "Being Fat" - although it isn't titled that way haha. There might be some truth pertaining to the correlation between being fat and being funny haha. We all want the "Fat Version" of D-So, but it's fine - D-So is still hilarious with his skits, instagram stuff, and podcast discussions. I have yet to find a picture of Ed Park when he was fat. I used to be 185 lbs. at my heaviest.

As Asian-Americans, we tend to take our parents for granted. We all tend to look at things from our own perspectives or point of views, and not sympathizing with what our parents had to go through (of course, it can be very situational). Or how much they've given us, supported us or loved us. We are all wallowing in our own misfortunes and what we erroneously believe is what should be from them. Just let them be, and appreciate / love them as parents.

With that being said - I still firmly believe that Asian-Americans or Asians need to speak up or speak out against injustices or racism. I still firmly believe that all Asians should support each other (if you can't, you can't) simply because - unity, and "strength in numbers". But I also realize how unrealistic it is, since every Asian culture is different or unqiue. Or have their own way.

"Happy" Christmas and a "Merry" New Yea-ah! ha-ha-ha. Enjoy the holidays with Ricky Berwick's skits. Or the WoW Angry Fat Guy Francis - is he returning to WoW? haha.

I'm all Christmas-ed out in terms of holiday movies. Well, I still highly recommend "A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas". Please think about a Part 4.

Sunday, December 20, 2020

It's been awhile since I had a hearty listen to a GeniusBrain podcast - Sundays are my days to re-listen to hilarious or fun podcast episodes. The guest speakers are a delight in sharing insights, stories and hilarious anecdotes. Roll call for the Chipotle Fight story haha: D-So "I Still Look Fat", Nick "The Ear", Patrick "The Guy Who Does Not Look Like A Hispanic" Riley (Well, he shared that on a podcast episode haha).

Self-esteem is key or absolutely important in being happy, confident and speaking up / out against injustices or discrimination. Focus on positive endeavors / influence. Shrug off trollish behavior - at least you are getting attention. And continue to build or work toward becoming more happy and successful.

"No Dinn-uh for you, Fat-uh Boy!" hahaha.

The Video Game Pianist is learning / playing L.v. Beethoven's 32 Variations. How cool is that - Happy 250th for L.v. Beethoven!

I absolutely vouch for Parry Shen to be an extra in the new "Spider-Man" haha. Authentic as they come.

A Cobra Kai / Karate Kid Fan page might be in order - there is already a lot of thoughts and questions on it as the countdown is on.

Saturday, December 12, 2020

This month, all we can think about is the countdown toward the release of Cobra Kai Season 3 for the new year. Merry New Yea-ah for ya!

In the meantime, fans will continue to speculate in fan-made videos. Other than Cobra Kai Kompanion:
Cobra Kai Kid
Cobra Kai Theory
Cobra Kai Nation

And oh yeah - did Stingray ever get that security job? haha. Probably not - he'll most likely get his Home Depot or Lowe's job back after being behind bars for his part in the school fight. Speaking of which, it would not be very credible if the participants in the fight did not spend some time behind bars (or at least being suspended).

Friday, December 11, 2020

Just some trivial, Friday tidbits:

I did not know that Daniel Dae Kim had a cameo in "Spider-Man 2" - one of Doc Ock's scientist.

Daniel LaRusso had to go against "three" different bullies, but also had "three" different girlfriends as well in all "three" films. That's your epiphany for the day haha.

I believe music or even art is the only industry (and maybe some form of entertainment / nostalgia that everyone enjoys) that has that unifying quality to it - innate and eternal. There is really nothing else that can compare.

More thoughts on the new Cobra Kai S3 trailer or speculation on Season 3:

Is Chozen going to be around (for more than 1 episode or season)? Hope so - I'm sure there is a lot of story to tell.
Are we going to get another trailer or a second trailer? - hope so.
The final shot of Johnny in that snappy suit - is he possibly meeting an old flame or you-know-who? Or he could have made amends with Carmen.
The duo finally teaming up - they sure aren't Tango & Cash haha
Diaz certainly "fell like a champ" haha - what the hell was he reaching for.

Cobra Kai S3 is going to be certainly more badass than ever if the trailer is any indication. Yuji Okumoto confirmed it on his social media, and there is a clear shot of Chozen at the end of the trailer. Inquiring minds want to know - has he redeemed himself, or is he out for vengeance. The usual hilarious humor littered throughout as well. Yuji has been busy with "The Paper Tigers", a martial arts film I should watch if it is available on VOD.

I am working towards finishing J.S. Bach's Three-Part Inventions. All 15 of them.

Sunday, December 06, 2020

According to Jason Tobin's twitter, S2 might be the final season. Fans can only hope for a new season - anything can happen. I would absolutely believe that Rich Ting was the surprise in S1 and Dustin Nguyen in S2 in terms of characters to look out for.

Nobuyuki Tsujii stands out among technically-gifted or talented pianists. I saw a few of his concert or recital videos online, and was mesmerized. He is also blind, but still performs or composes as if he weren't. The trifecta of Lang Lang, the VGP and Nobuyuki (all with unique, individual standout talents) - I see them as benchmarks. I'll have to create a playlist of his performances eventually.

How do I interpret Jeremy Lin's cryptic Beijing Burger tiktok? He's just doin' it for fun haha. But still, it would be convenient to think that he is returning to Beijing.

Cobra Kai S3 trailer - bring it!

Friday, November 27, 2020

What a feast, what a treat - that's Thanksgiving or Turkey Day haha. Although we could not all gather together this year, it was enjoyable and delicious as always for whoever we spent it with.

From comedian Henry Cho's facebook, talk about a Throwback, it's "Revenge of the Nerds III". What I remember about that film - Hex Week! (or was it Heck Week?). The picture below is a representation of Nerds of all races and gender. Pure diversity. Although the Revenge of the Nerds films were mostly about caricatures, or sort of like a parody on stereotypes as well.

Tuesday, November 24, 2020

I enjoyed Sungwon Cho's rendition of "Snow Halation" via Goofy's voice. In that event, it could be seen sort of as a parody haha. Still, added to my playlist.

I'm looking forward to J.S. Bach's Sinfonia No. 15 - the final Invention, but that's further down the road - eventually. It's a bit different. But before that, some others first.

RIP Pat Morita's 15th anniversary.
